What Happens In The Study?
You will be asked to complete online health related questionnaires:
- at enrollment
- at 6-month follow-up
- at 12-month follow-up
This information will be used to describe how you respond to medical cannabis and how it affects your overall health-related quality of life and wellness.
How Do I Enroll Into The Study?
To participate, you must review and sign an electronic Consent Form provided by your health care professional. You can complete this form at any Appletree Medical Centre or take it home to read and complete at your convenience. Once you provide your consent, you will be enrolled into the study.
Your Participation Is Voluntary
You may leave the study at any time, even after enrollment. Your decision to participate will not affect your access to medical treatment or the quality of care you receive in any way.
Is the study confidential?
All your data will be made anonymous and kept confidential during and after study completion.
About the Study
PureSinse and Appletree Medical Group have partnered to launch this particular study on the efficacy of medical cannabis in the treatment of certain medical conditions. The study will examine which cannabis strains and cannabinoid-terpene combinations provide improved therapeutic results for conditions such as neuropathic pain, insomnia, and anxiety disorders, as well as their effectiveness in reducing dependence on opioid medications in patients suffering from chronic pain disorders.

Cannabis Study - FAQ's
Will I be given cannabis if I take part in the study?
You will only be eligible to participate in the study if you are provided with a medical authorization for medical cannabis by your Appletree physician.
Will I be compensated for participating in the study?
You will not be compensated for taking part in the study.
How will I benefit from taking part in the study?
There are no direct benefits associated to you through your participation in this study. However, the data collected from the study will inform on how medical cannabis affects sleep, mood, pain, and appetite.
Does it cost me to take part in the study?
There may be an out- of pocket cost associated in getting medical cannabis unless your private insurance provider or public health insurance drug plan approves it as a reimbursed medical expense.
What are the risks/disadvantages of taking part in the study?
There are no medical risks directly related to your participation in the study. You will continue to receive your current medical care through your doctor.
How much of my effort and time would it take if I participate in this study?
- If you decide to participate in the study, you must provide consent electronically by signing the informed consent form provided to you by your physician.
- There will be minimum effort and time involved while you participate in the study. You will be requested to complete online health related questionnaires, which will be shared with you directly via private links and may be completed at your convenience.
- You will not need to go to visit your physician or hospital for any extra visits, nor will you be required to have any additional tests, procedures or treatments.
