Centennial College has partnered with Appletree Medical Group to offer Virtual Care services to Centennial students, staff, guests and neighbours. With just a few clicks you’ll be connected to an Appletree doctor via video or phone. You choose; use your smartphone or log onto your computer from the comfort of your home or from the office.

You must call to book your appointment. Our team will ensure your Guard.me information is included in your chart and that you can benefit from your Guard.me coverage.
You must be in Ontario to use Appletree Virtual Care.
Covered with OHIP?
Appletree Virtual Care is covered by OHIP and you will be asked to enter your OHIP card number when creating your account.

Virtual Care appointments are available online 7 days a week, making it easy for you to pick a date and time that suits your schedule.
Ontarians with an OHIP card can book Virtual Care without having to pay. Add your OHIP card number to your account for coverage.
Check that your WIFI connection, webcam and speakers are working. Have your OHIP or payment card on hand and a list of your current medication.
Complete A Survey
You’ll complete a secure and private Online Medical Survey helping the doctor get your in-depth medical history.
At the date and time of your appointment, click on the link provided to you via email or text to complete your online check-in.

Am I Eligible For Virtual Care?
Canadians age 4 and up may participate in Virtual Care, however eligible conditions, services and coverage may vary.

- Controlled substance renewal or prescription including narcotics

- Conditions that require a Breast, Pelvic, Genital. or Rectal exam
- Cuts that would reasonably require stitches (longer than 1cm)
- Acute or new psychiatric crises or symptoms
- Under 4 years of age

How do I access my Virtual Care account and contact Technical Support?
If you are experiencing any issues when setting up or connecting to a Virtual Care appointment, please contact us via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or complete our Contact Us form by selecting “Virtual Care Inquiries/Support”.

Do I have to pay for a Virtual Care appointment?
Virtual Care services are covered under the OHIP program for all Ontarians with an OHIP health card. When creating your profile for your Virtual Care appointment, you will be asked to provide your OHIP card number and version code.
Patients without OHIP coverage must pay for Virtual Care services. Standard service fees are charged and will be clearly communicated to you as you book your appointment. You may be eligible for reimbursement through your company or university benefit plans or through your home province.
Do you accept private insurance?
A variety of third party (private) insurance are accepted through our Virtual Care service. Currently, patients with UHIP, CHIP, Morcare, Intrepid 24/7 and Guard.Me can see a doctor via Virtual Care.
*NOTE*: Guard.me only covers acute issues. Patients must pay for non-acute issues.
Contact us by phone to book your appointment:
Patients with private insurances must contact us by phone to book a Virtual Care visit. When booking your appointment, our team will add your insurance information to your profile so that you do not have to pay the service fee. This is not possible when booking your appointment online. You can also see us in-person at one of our Appletree Medical Centres.
Are the appointments with Doctors or Nurses?
At Appletree, we ONLY offer appointments with physicians, to ensure that you receive the highest level of care possible. Both family physicians and specialists are available. These physicians are part of the Appletree network and are fully licenced to practice medicine in Canada.
After the visit, will I have access to the details of my visit?
Can I get a prescription?
Yes! Your prescription may be emailed to you or can also be faxed automatically to the pharmacy of your choice. When creating you account, you will have the opportunity to provide the name and fax number of your preferred pharmacy.
Can any condition be seen via Virtual Care?
No. There are several cases that are NOT considered appropriate or permissible for Virtual Care Visits. Please see the complete list of non permissible cases on the page above or download our Telemedicine List of Included and Excluded Services available on our Patient Resources page.
Which device may be used to connect to my appointment?
You can connect to your Virtual Care appointment using a smartphone, tablet or desktop computer. Both telephone and video appointments are available.
What happens if there is an issue during my appointment that interrupts my video call?
The doctor will call you back by phone, using the phone number you have provided when creating your account.
Can I choose any Doctor to provide care for my condition?
Our doctors work as a team, and not all doctors provide all services available. When you select the reason for your visit, you will see whichever Doctors are providing that specific service.
How do I cancel my appointment or access my Virtual Care account?
To cancel your appointment you must go into your Virtual Care account and cancel the appointment, see the link below. This cannot be done by calling us, you must do it directly from your account.
